Kevin joined the CYO Track and Field program as a 4th grader running the 800 meter run and the 400 meter run for Holy Family Catholic School, Temple Hills, MD. You could also find him on the basketball court where he played for the Holy Family JV Basketball team. During his time at Holy Family, Kevin earned both academic and athletic recognition. His love for CYO, especially the Track & Field program, brought him back to the track after graduation as a volunteer helping with meet management and recording results. Kevin later graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School in 2003 and went on to attend Xavier University in New Orleans, LA.
Born on November 30, 1985, Kevin grew up in Temple Hills, MD. His baptism at St. Benedict the Moor Church was just the beginning of his actively involved life in the Church. Kevin served as a Lector and was affectionately known as the “light” of his family. He was a free sprit with an infectious, brilliant smile, a charming wit and great sense of humor. Kevin’s life was tragically ended in 2004 as a result of an automobile accident involving a drunk-driver. The CYO has proudly named the Championship Track & Field Trophy after Kevin, in honor of his dedication to the sport and his Catholic faith.
