God is Love is a bilingual program to help girls explore a wide range of activities to discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of a family, a parish,
and the Catholic Church.
Family of God
Brownie Girl Scouts (2-3 grade)
A bilingual activity series developed to compliment the catechetical efforts of the parish and families with children in the second and third grades. The program helps children discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their family and parish.
I Live My Faith
Junior Girl Scouts
Designed to help girls appreciate more deeply the place that God and religion occupy in their daily life. The action oriented program is divided into three chapters, “Stretching,” “Seeking,” and Finding,” each of which blends the dimensions of discovery, prayer, service, and sacrament into a unified whole. I Live My Faith complements and supports the more formal religious education provided in Catholic Schools and parish programs.
Mary, the First Disciple
Cadette Girl Scouts
Enables young Catholics to
“proclaim the greatness of the Lord.” This is accomplished by actively involving the participants in a understanding of Mary as a model of openness and spirituality – a woman of the church. Through various projects, discussions, and liturgical celebrations over a period of months, the participants are provided with a unique opportunity to develop new insights into their personalities, friends, parents, and the world around them.
Spirit Alive
Senior/Ambassador Girl Scouts
Designed to
assist Catholic Youth in discovering how the Holy Spirit moves in thei r lives, calling them to greater participation in the church’s ministry. The four chapters cover the Holy Spirit Alive in Scripture, in the Catholic Church, in Prayer and in Your Life. Because different people have different learning styles, there are four categories of activities to choose from for chapters 1-3: written, artistic, interactive and digital. The activity in chapter 4 is the service component of the process.
Pillars of Faith - Service to God
Girl Scouts who have completed Family of God, I Live My Faith, Marian Medal and The Spirit Alive
Provides a special recognition to those Girl Scouts who have earned all four of the Catholic Religious Awards. For every 100 girls who join Scouting, very few earn the Gold Award. Even fewer Scouts earn a Religious Award, so to earn all four Catholic Religious Awards is a monumental feat.
The purpose is to help the Cub Scout
develop a personal relationship with Jesus. With the parents' active assistance and participation in this program, it is hoped that the Cub will come to see Jesus as a real person and his friend.
Parvuli Dei
Bear or Webelos Cub Scouts (8 to 10 year olds)
The purpose of the Parvuli Dei
(Children of God) emblem is to help young boys explore a wide range of activities in order to discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their families and parishes, and also to develop a good, positive self-image through the contributions they can make to the group or community.
Ad Altare Dei
Registered Boy Scouts in a BSA Troop or Venture Crew (13 to 14+ years old) who have been active members of a unit for 6 months and have completed the 6th grade.
The purpose of the Ad Altare Dei ( to the altar of God) program is to help Catholic Youth of the Roman Rite develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community. The program is organized in chapters based on the seven sacraments. The seven Sacraments are a primary means toward spiritual growth.
Pope Pius XII
Registered Venturers, Sea Scouts, and Scouts of Catholic Faith, regardless of gender (15-20 years old, registered Venturers and Sea Scouts before their 21st birthday and registered Boy Scouts before their 18th birthday).
Pope Pius XII is Catholic Scouting's church-related ministries and vocation program. The program deals with different life choices (single, married, religious, ordained), occupations and ministries in the church as calls from God. It includes youth led discussions on current issues facing the church and society, which are normally included as part of a Pius XII retreat or day of recollection.
Deus et Familia Mea (God and My Family) guides girls through an awareness of who
they are as children of God in the family of the Catholic Church. Girls will learn about the Holy Mass, sacraments, traditions and history of the Catholic Church with fun, hands-on activities. Girls are encouraged to explore and perform works of charity for their families and neighbors.
Deus et Familia Mea is divided into 3 segments. Girls earn a Segment patch for each Segment completed. The indiviual Segments will complete the full patch and the medal is earned when all Segments within the the level are complete.
Deus et Patria Mea
Catholic Explorers
Deus et Patria Mea (God and My Country) allows girls to learn about
various saints representing the United States of America. Explorers enrich their faith by exploring Catholic elements that are most important to those saints, including the Eucharist, Corporal Works of Mercy, and missionary work. Deus et Patria Mea is thought-provoking, hands-on, and will foster a desire in girls to serve Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church.
Deus et Civita Mea
Catholic Pioneers
Deus et Civita Mea (God and My Community) Deus et Civitas Mea guides
girls to examine service in their community through Sacred Scripture and Catholic Church Tradition. Girls learn the importance of preparing to serve through prayer and learning about people who exemplified service in their lives. Girls put what they have learned into practice by serving others and by reflecting on the impact of their service.
Femina Integritatis
Catholic Patriots
Femina Integritatis (Woman of Integrity) Femina Integritatis encourages girls to internalize and immerse themselves in what it means to be a Catholic Woman of Integrity. Prayer and discussion are essential elements of this study with opportunities for outings and engaging speakers. Through study of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Our Blessed Mother, the lives of the saints, and the sacraments, girls discern God’s call for their lives after high school.
